Who we are

The Franchise Research Institute is a research masthead published by 20percent.ai and funded by Choose Franchise. That relationship is disclosed on every page of this site.

Information we collect

Most of our research uses information about businesses, not individuals: franchise disclosure figures, unit counts and public review snapshots, obtained through the Choose Franchise research API and Data Hub.

When you contact us by email, we collect what you send us so that we can respond, and we keep a record of the correspondence.

Our web servers keep standard technical request logs, including the requesting user agent, for security and operational purposes.

How we use information

Business-level information is used to produce aggregated research findings. We report figures with their windows and denominators, and we do not publish figures that could identify an individual operator.

Contact details are used to reply to enquiries, handle corrections, and send material you have asked for. We do not sell information.

Aggregation

Findings are reported in aggregated form. Where the number of contributing systems in a category is too small to avoid identifying characteristics, the figure is marked indicative or withheld.

Third parties

20percent.ai publishes this site and Choose Franchise funds it and supplies its data platform. Review snapshots are supplied through Data Hub.

We use standard service providers for hosting and email. Those providers act under our instructions and are bound by their own contractual obligations.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or remove information held about your business at any time by contacting [email protected].

You can opt out of further contact from us at any time. Opt-outs are honoured promptly.

Security and updates

We take reasonable steps to protect information we hold, using standard security practices for hosted systems.
